La risoluzione anti-israeliana è passata da 147 a favore di 7 contro con 13 astensioni.
Le Nazioni Unite hanno votato su una risoluzione che condanna l '"occupazione illegale" di Israele in Giudea e Samaria, Gerusalemme est e le alture del Golan, secondo quanto dichiarato da una U.N.
La risoluzione "Risoluzione pacifica della questione della Palestina" martedì ha invitato tutti gli Stati membri delle Nazioni Unite a non riconoscere alcun cambiamento ai confini pre-1967. La risoluzione è passata da 147 a favore di 7 contro con 13 astensioni.
"L'Assemblea ribadisce il suo appello per il raggiungimento di una pace giusta e duratura in Medio Oriente e la fine dell'occupazione israeliana, mentre invita Israele, la Potenza occupante, a rispettare rigorosamente il diritto internazionale, cessando le azioni volte a modificare la demografia composizione del territorio e immediatamente interrompere tutte le attività di insediamento ", ha affermato la nota.
Sembra che il Canada sia tornato alla sua posizione di lunga data di voto contro le risoluzioni anti-israeliane dell'ONU.
Con una mossa sorprendente a novembre, il Canada ha votato "sì" su una risoluzione delle Nazioni Unite che chiedeva la fine dell '"occupazione israeliana".
"L'urgenza di raggiungere senza indugio la fine dell'occupazione israeliana iniziata nel 1967" e "di continuare a sostenere e assistere il popolo palestinese nella realizzazione precoce del suo diritto all'autodeterminazione", ha affermato la risoluzione di novembre.

The United Nations has voted on a resolution condemning Israel’s “illegal occupation” in Judea and Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, a statement by the U.N. said.
The “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine” resolution on Tuesday called on all U.N. member states not to recognize any changes to the pre-1967 borders. The resolution passed by 147 in favor to 7 against with 13 abstentions.
“The Assembly reiterates its call for the achievement of a just, lasting peace in the Middle East and an end to the Israeli occupation, while calling on Israel, the occupying Power, to comply strictly with international law, cease actions aimed at altering the demographic composition of the Territory, and immediately halt all settlement activities,” the statement said.
It seems that Canada has returned to its longstanding position of voting against anti-Israel U.N resolutions.
In a surprising move in November, Canada voted “yes” on a U.N. resolution that called for the end of the “Israeli occupation.”
“The urgency of achieving without delay an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967” and “to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination,” the November resolution said.

Israel still has the last word in such matters and reserves the right to assume full control of both territories at any time and without justification to anyone. Don't like it? If the Arab invaders of 1967 had conquered more of Israel, instead of losing the West Bank, etc.,
-1- I doubt if the UN would even be calling for a return to “pre-1967 borders", or
-2- that Arab states would even consider complying with UN calls to relinquish land,
even though doing so would pose no security risk to their security, as doing so would for Israel.

and further the new resolution should not ignore that:
-1- Islamic extremists have no interest in a “lasting peace in the Middle East”,
where a Jewish state exists, and

Perhaps you haven't heard. The latest news is the U.S. House of Representatives passed on Friday a resolution opposing Israeli annexation of the West Bank and endorsing a 2-state solution.
House Resolution 326, states clearly that US policy will "discourage steps by either side that would put a peaceful end to the conflict further out of reach, including unilateral annexation of territory." The resolution was supported by 226 lawmakers and opposed by 118.
So I suppose you'd kick Congress out of the USA as well, -eh?

Earlier provisions stated only the parties can reach an agreement, but the USA can play a constructive role by making proposals. So basically the House is suggesting any USA proposal should follow the stated guidelines.
But the USA has already made those proposals for decades and the Palestinians have never agreed to them and never will. The Palestinians are already trying to achieve statehood outside the framework of negotiations so Israel might as well proceed with the annexation. The House proposal was intended to criticize Trump's approach but Trump is taking a different approach because the previous one failed miserably.

La risoluzione anti-israeliana è passata da 147 a favore di 7 contro con 13 astensioni.
Le Nazioni Unite hanno votato su una risoluzione che condanna l '"occupazione illegale" di Israele in Giudea e Samaria, Gerusalemme est e le alture del Golan, secondo quanto dichiarato da una U.N.
La risoluzione "Risoluzione pacifica della questione della Palestina" martedì ha invitato tutti gli Stati membri delle Nazioni Unite a non riconoscere alcun cambiamento ai confini pre-1967. La risoluzione è passata da 147 a favore di 7 contro con 13 astensioni.
"L'Assemblea ribadisce il suo appello per il raggiungimento di una pace giusta e duratura in Medio Oriente e la fine dell'occupazione israeliana, mentre invita Israele, la Potenza occupante, a rispettare rigorosamente il diritto internazionale, cessando le azioni volte a modificare la demografia composizione del territorio e immediatamente interrompere tutte le attività di insediamento ", ha affermato la nota.
Sembra che il Canada sia tornato alla sua posizione di lunga data di voto contro le risoluzioni anti-israeliane dell'ONU.
Con una mossa sorprendente a novembre, il Canada ha votato "sì" su una risoluzione delle Nazioni Unite che chiedeva la fine dell '"occupazione israeliana".
"L'urgenza di raggiungere senza indugio la fine dell'occupazione israeliana iniziata nel 1967" e "di continuare a sostenere e assistere il popolo palestinese nella realizzazione precoce del suo diritto all'autodeterminazione", ha affermato la risoluzione di novembre.

The United Nations has voted on a resolution condemning Israel’s “illegal occupation” in Judea and Samaria, eastern Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, a statement by the U.N. said.
The “Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine” resolution on Tuesday called on all U.N. member states not to recognize any changes to the pre-1967 borders. The resolution passed by 147 in favor to 7 against with 13 abstentions.
“The Assembly reiterates its call for the achievement of a just, lasting peace in the Middle East and an end to the Israeli occupation, while calling on Israel, the occupying Power, to comply strictly with international law, cease actions aimed at altering the demographic composition of the Territory, and immediately halt all settlement activities,” the statement said.
It seems that Canada has returned to its longstanding position of voting against anti-Israel U.N resolutions.
In a surprising move in November, Canada voted “yes” on a U.N. resolution that called for the end of the “Israeli occupation.”
“The urgency of achieving without delay an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967” and “to continue to support and assist the Palestinian people in the early realization of their right to self-determination,” the November resolution said.

I am proud of Canada for standing with Israel. As far as those that voted against Israel goes, I hope Israel will not assist them in any way medically or otherwise.

-1- I doubt if the UN would even be calling for a return to “pre-1967 borders", or
-2- that Arab states would even consider complying with UN calls to relinquish land,

Perhaps you haven't heard. The latest news is the U.S. House of Representatives passed on Friday a resolution opposing Israeli annexation of the West Bank and endorsing a 2-state solution.
House Resolution 326, states clearly that US policy will "discourage steps by either side that would put a peaceful end to the conflict further out of reach, including unilateral annexation of territory." The resolution was supported by 226 lawmakers and opposed by 118.
So I suppose you'd kick Congress out of the USA as well, -eh?

Earlier provisions stated only the parties can reach an agreement, but the USA can play a constructive role by making proposals. So basically the House is suggesting any USA proposal should follow the stated guidelines.
But the USA has already made those proposals for decades and the Palestinians have never agreed to them and never will. The Palestinians are already trying to achieve statehood outside the framework of negotiations so Israel might as well proceed with the annexation. The House proposal was intended to criticize Trump's approach but Trump is taking a different approach because the previous one failed miserably.
